Cisco SPA941 4-line IP Phone with 1-port Ethernet Review

Cisco SPA941 4-line IP Phone with 1-port Ethernet
Average Reviews:

I put together two Asterisk servers for two businesses, and bought several of the SPA941 phones. I looked at Grandstream products, and read reviews, and bought one, but they are basically cheap crud in comparison. This SPA941 series is a solid business phone that works well... the cheaper competitors feel like cheap plastic (they are), and have all kinds of operational issues working with Asterisk. I'm basically a fan of this product.
On the down side, I have had trouble getting and installing the 2-to-4 line upgrade. Be aware that this is only a 2-line phone, even though it has 4-line buttons.

Linksys SPA3000 Analog Telephone Adapter 1 Port FXO + 1 Port FXS Review

Linksys SPA3000 Analog Telephone Adapter 1 Port FXO + 1 Port FXS
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This is a powerful product, but with lots of settings, no manual, and some complexity to configure. Once configured, it works beautifully. I've configured it so that our local calls go out through our regular local phone company on the regular local phone line, but our long distance calls seamlessly go out via SIP on our VOIP provider. My non-technical wife just picks up the phone and dials any number, and it automatically figures out how to place the call for a good rate. Incoming calls just come in seamlessly. Caller ID works fine. It took about five evenings to get it set up properly, and I have a degree in computer science and lots of computer networking experience.
There's no manual provided with the product, and Sipura has not made the manuals easily visible on their website. If you're thinking about this product, do a web search for help in figuring out how to configure it. This is NOT something you'll just figure out without documentation.
Some embedded documentation would help this product tremendously. It's mostly configured via a web browser; while configuring, I should be able to click a "help" button for an explanation of what the various fields do. Even a well-written paper manual would help (the .pdf file I found wasn't so great). If this product were documented properly, it'd almost certainly rate 5 stars.

Obihai OBi110 Voice Service Bridge and Telephone Adapter Review

Obihai OBi110 Voice Service Bridge and Telephone Adapter
Average Reviews:

I have been looking for a simple solution that would allow us to setup and use Google Voice. Since asterisk 1.8 came out, I have been waiting for DD-WRT or tomatoes to integrate this in the router so I would not need a computer to run 24/7 to set up Google Voice.
Then comes Obi110 which solves this problem. The setup was very simple. If you don't want to store your GV credentials on the Obitalk.com you can set it up by logging on the adapter (just like logging onto the router). I did find it that if you do it this way, when you dial out you still have to dial "**1" (using profile1) then the number you want to reach. Maybe there is a way to get rid of this. But if you setup through Obitalk you can enable the prefix and dial just like in GV. You can also update the FW from Obitalk.
Everything is working as expected. Caller ID shows up correctly when you call someone. When someone calls the ID would show "?" then the number with no dash, something like this: ?1234567890. My wife was on the phone for an hour and she said the quality was good. If you are looking into a simple setup (and almost plug and play) I would highly recommend the Obi110.

Alfa Color Wireless VoIP Internet IP Wifi Phone Review

Alfa Color Wireless VoIP Internet IP Wifi Phone
Average Reviews:

Update 3/22: The phone locks up and does not function, it seems fine, ad your voip number will ring, but the handset just sits there silently... we are unable to use these phones as they are not reliable enough.
-------------
I wanted a phone for SIP trunking, not for Skype.
That is exactly what i got, this phone does not do Skype as far as i can tell and i am happy about that.
The phone has a very strong wifi receiver, it picked up far more wifi points around my home than any other wifi device i have.
The setup was a bit complex, but in the end it was not too bad, just that VoIP has confusing temrs that seem to overlap one another for settings.
The call clarity is GREAT, the ear peice is perhaps just slightly tinny but overall i rate this unit as being quite good.
It does show some signs of being a cheaper no name brand, the display flashes in places during certain menu surfing, but it's nothing really just trivial. I do wonder though if it wil last through the ages (haha). For what we wanted, it is perfect. I will order 3 or 4 more so that we cover all our needs and have a couple of spares waiting.
It's a nice size, i don't want some nano phone anyway, and pretty light.
I use it with callcentric and it works just fine.

Siemens Gigaset Digital Cordless Phone with Hybrid IP/Landline Calling (A580IP) Review

Siemens Gigaset Digital Cordless Phone with Hybrid IP/Landline Calling (A580IP)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I am reasonably technical and run a VOIP PBX for our small business with several different providers, IP Phones and gateways. This seemed like a nice addition where cordless IP phones are needed. I have almost returned this several times because of the UI and contact import issues, however I am keeping it in hope of an updated firmware release.
Pros -
Good voice quality
Register multiple VOIP Providers
Price is right for an expandable VOIP based ATA and handset
Cons -
Handset Interface and Features are a mess to use - Siemens could learn something from other cordless handset manufactures
Vcard contact import is a nightmare
Can't seem to remove internal Gigaset setting/provider
Web interface is acceptable If you do the upgrade... if not it is so slow you can' use it.
No Headset Jack (are you kidding me?)
I want to like it... but not quite prime time.

Uniden UIP1869V Expandable Vonage Internet Phone System Review

Uniden UIP1869V Expandable Vonage Internet Phone System
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The fact that this phone handles only one line is somewhat hidden, I will agree. However, with some quick research, you will find that there are few SIP phones that will handle two lines without getting into the Cisco series phones, by which time you're already into the $300-$400 range. And thats still corded! Granted, there are options like the Sipura SIP841 (which I own), which will do 2 lines, and 4 with a license, for only $99 or so. But that's neither here nor there.
The Uniden UIP1869V is a solid phone. Simple to set up. Easy to use. My only real gripe is the inability to sync the addressbook of the cordless handset(s) automagically with the base station. But I can live with it, I'll just make sure I enter new entries on the base station, and push them from there. Otherwise, setup was simple. Enter the MAC address on the Vonage activate page, and you're done. I added QOS rules into my Netscreen to guarantee bandwidth, and I have crystal clear calls.

For those of us who suffer from huge cell phone bills while we travel or from outrageous landline bills from international calls, help has finally arrived. Thanks to a unique partnership between Uniden and Vonage, there's now a convenient and viable alternative to those bills. With the Uniden UIP1869V Whole House VoIP Phone System for Vonage, you can take advantage of the huge costs savings and the increased functionality that VoIP offers, without losing any of the functionality or convenience of your current home or business phone system. Unlike most VoIP phone sets that keep you tied to your modem as you make phone calls, the Uniden UIP1869V supports up to 10 wireless handsets, which means you can move throughout your house or office while you're on the phone. With Vonage's service, you will have the advantage of realizing huge cost savings on long distance and international calls.
VoIP: How It Works VoIP is an acronym for Voice over Internet Protocol, or, in more common terms, phone service over the Internet. If you have a broadband connection, you can get your phone service delivered to you through your Internet connection instead of from your local phone company. Unlike most other services that require that you install an extra, bulky analog adapter to your existing analog phone, the base set on the Uniden UIP1869V has a built-in adapter. Just plug the phone into your modem, and when you make a call, your voice will automatically converted into data and sent across the Internet lines just like e-mail. And when the person you're calling picks up, it sounds just the same as any other call. Likewise, when someone calls you, you answer it like you would any phone call. It's that simple. Like traditional land lines, Vonage gives you all the options that you've grown to expect from any phone company, including Caller ID, Call Waiting, Three-Way Calling, Call Return, and much more. So if VoIP gives you everything a traditional phone service offers, why would you want to switch? For starters, your monthly costs will be dramatically lower. In addition to unlimited calling in the U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico, Vonage offers significant savings on international rates, and you are not required to commit to an annual contract. Depending on where you live in the U.S., you can save 90% and more on many of your calls to Europe, for instance. But lower costs are only the beginning. With Vonage VoIP service, you can also choose the area code you want to use. So if you live in San Francisco, but most of your family, friends, or business clients are in New York, you can choose a New York area code. Better yet, if you are living abroad temporarily, you can take your number with you, or choose a U.S. area code to keep the costs of your U.S. calls low. Vonage VoIP service also gives you the option of checking your voice mail by phone or e-mail or via the Internet, and you have several calling plans to choose from. And did we mention that you can use your Vonage account anywhere in the world that has an Internet connection? You can either take the Uniden UIP1869V with you and simply plug it into an Internet connection, or take a Vonage adapter (a free adapter is provided with every account) and plug any regular analog phone into it. Whether you're in Atlanta or Zimbabwe, as long as you have an Internet connection, you can make or receive calls using your own telephone number. The Base and Handset Details In addition to all the outstanding calling features that Vonage VoIP offers, the Uniden UIP1869V is packed with advanced features that you'd expect from a high-quality phone.Included with the package is base keypad with a corded handset and a digital 5.8 GHz handset and charger. The units let you store up to 400 numbers (100 names with four numbers per name) and they feature a 100-Caller ID and phone book memory. In addition to letting you transfer calls between headsets, you can also use your phones for two-way radio calling between the base and a handset, or even between handsets. Other features include a built-in pager so you can always locate your handsets, illuminated keypads, 20 ring tones to choose from, hold/mute/redial functions, a "do not disturb" message, adjustable ringer and volume control, anonymous call rejection, and a message waiting indicator with alert. In short, the Uniden UIP1869V gives you everything you'll need to keep your communications flowing. And if you have multiple lines and a FAX, don't fret. The Uniden UIP1869V can be configured for up to two VoIP voice lines and a separate dedicated VoIP FAX line. Note: This phone is only compatible with Vonage VoIP services. A service plan (sold separately) with Vonage is required. See www.vonage.com for more information on plans and pricing. What's in the Box Base keypad, wireless handset, software CD-ROM, USB cable, audio cable, 2 Ethernet cables, 2 AC power adapters, belt clip, rechargeable battery, and manual.

Cisco SPA2102 VoIP Phone Adapter with Router Review

Cisco SPA2102 VoIP Phone Adapter with Router
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This adapter is excellent for those tech-savvy enough to configure.
Echo cancellation and jitter buffer work well.
The latest firmware allows you to increase the DTMF detection timing so that talkoff (spurious DTMF) can pretty much be eliminated. Currently, this can't be done using a PAP2T-NA adapter. This setting is under "Admin -> Voice -> Advanced -> Line1/Line2 -> DTMF Tx Strict Hold Off Time".
If your VOIP provider supports it, then T38 faxing works fairly well, with adjustable redundancy levels.
I've tried many other adapters and always had trouble, this is the only one I'll buy from now on. Anyone interested in a used PAP2T? :)

Cisco PAP2T Internet Phone Adapter with 2 Ports for Voice-over-IP Review

Cisco PAP2T Internet Phone Adapter with 2 Ports for Voice-over-IP
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
You need to know what you're doing to really get the most out of this device, but really, this device works fine. I own several of them and use them for my business and home.
To get it to work, you need to sign up for a SIP account with a VOIP provider, like Voip.ms, Voicepulse, Vitelity, or Callcentric.
I suggest updating the firmware as soon as you receive it, as there are frequent useful firmware updates. To respond to some of the one star reviews:
Of course the device doesn't work with Vonage, it's not supposed to! Vonage doesn't use SIP!
Of course the device died when you plugged the wrong power adapter into it - it fried the circuit board. You could make that same comment about hundreds of devices.
UPDATE: While I still think this device is good, I now recommend purchasing a Linksys SPA-2102 instead, due to a new firmware update from Linksys. It's worth the extra $[...] or $[...] bucks for the ability to tweak DTMF detection.

Cisco SPA3102 Voice Gateway with Router Review

Cisco SPA3102 Voice Gateway with Router
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The SPA3102 gives you both an FXS port (for a phone) and an FXO port (for a phone line), it's two devices in one box. Each device can operate independently or can be made to interact with the other. It's great for a start-up VoIP system where you want to have one phone and access to one phone line from the PSTN. Be aware that this is NOT a device that is made for plug and play. You have to know what you are doing. It is an extremely flexible device with MANY options. Which means it can be overwhelming to a beginner. A lot of the options can be left at default but you still need a basic (at least) understanding of networking, SIP and VoIP to get this working with a provider or VoIP PBX. If you know what you are doing, this unit can be up and running in 10 minutes, otherwise you'd better have a lot of patience.
This unit is the successor to the SPA3000, first released by Sipura, which was bought by Linksys, then Cisco. they added a few more features upgraded firmware AND a router. Most people will already have a router on their system and will probably just disable this feature and use the second Ethernet jack in bridge mode allowing a second device to be plugged in, saving a port on your router or switch.
All in all a great unit, but not made for the inexperienced, do some research if you aren't quite sure if this is for you, there is a lot of info on line

The SPA3102 features the ability to connect standard telephones and fax machines to IP-based data networks with the additional benefit of an integrated connection for legacy telephone network "hop-on hop-off" applications. SPA3102 users will be able to leverage their broadband phone service more than ever by automatically routing local calls from mobile phones and land lines over to VoIP service providers --and vice versa. If power is lost to the unit or Internet service is down calls can be redirected to a traditional carrier via the FXO interface.A user calling from a mobile phone or land line will be able to reduce and even eliminate international and long distance telephone charges by first calling their SPA3102 via a local telephone number. The advanced authentication and call routing intelligence programmed into the SPA3102 will route the call via the Internet to the far end destination. In addition when using the SPA3102 at the far end VoIP calls placed at that location can be either answered or further processed and routed on as a local call to any legacy land line or mobile phone.

I read the previous review. I'm the second. I've owned many Linksys routers and wireless access points, as well as hubs. This is my favorite so far. It doesn't get released in stores until late summer/early fall 2009. The gentlemen before me wrote about how it's not compatible with Vonage. That's true. BECAUSE it's a VOIP router in itself. I know that it's used by a company called Elevate Comm that launches in April (a month from now). That's how I got it. Great router, great price, easy to use and setup, as well as great range. I use it it my house, which is 12000 square feet, and I get signal everywhere. Which is better than I can say about my netgear routers.
