Having installed 2 of these printers, I STRONGLY encourage you to go to the HP support site and download the latest printer software from www.hp.com/support. The CD's that came with the printers I installed simply didn't work on OS 10.3.9 and was not the latest software for OS 10.4 or 10.5. Using the CD's is frustratingly long and in the end, pointless. Unfortunately, you'll need broadband Internet because the software is over 180MB.
Also for those connecting the printer to the USB port of their Airport, I quote from the HP Support site:
"In general, HP printers that support networking and/or optional JetDirect print servers should print when connected to the USB port of a wireless router, such as the Apple Airport Express and Extreme Base Stations.
NOTE:Connecting to the USB port of a wireless router will provide a `print-only' function, meaning additional functions of your product, such as scanning or card slots, will not be available."
I was disappointed that my scanner didn't work when using the Airport hub. I still think the printer is a good value for the under $90 I paid on Amazon but the software that comes with it is frustrating difficult if you start with the CD's. I give HP zero stars for software installation, 3 stars for some of the software applications they give you and 5 stars for hardware and value; so 3 stars overall.

HP P3005DN LaserJet Printer Review

Worked good for the first week, then the formatter went bad and we were instructed to take it to the local authorized repair shop. Three weeks later we're still waiting for the part. HP customer support is non existent. After three weeks agreed to accept a refurbished replacement but wanted a 1 year warranty, if the refurbished is just as good shouldn't they stand behind it as well? HP said no go and wanted me to pay to ship the refurbished printer. So if you want a printer that doesn't work and like to spend hours on the phone with tech and customer support, buy this printer.

HP Photosmart 3210 All-in-One Printer, Copier, and Scanner Review

HP Photosmart 3210 All-in-One Printer, Copier, and Scanner
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
To start off, let me say that I am traditionally not a fan of HP's products. I did, however, view this all-in-one as having some nicer features than some others and took a chance.
I feel that generally HP does well with hardware products and or designs but struggles with their software integration with their products. I feel this is the case here as well. I have had my 3210 for about 2 weeks and here are my experiences.
Pros:
i) Scanning resolution and overall quality is quite good.
ii) Printing quality is also good. I wasn't planning on doing a ton of printing but based on experiences I will probably do more than anticipated because of the good results.
iii) Scanning and printing are both pretty quick. Marketed as the fastest picture printer all-in-one on the market... can't compare with others but I suspect they are correct here.
iv) I was happy to find in my research that replacement ink cartridges are NOT terribly expensive and they are easy to replace and know if they are running low.
Cons:
i) Paper magazine is small so it doesn't hold a lot -- minor.
ii) Software install was more of a pain than I was expecting. Installation on WinXP SP1 was generally OK but on WinXP SP2 it was a struggle. Not HP's fault, certainly, but they weren't able to make the installation easier to prevent some of these isssues or frustrations. I hope they have a lot of tech support people available as this product sells.
iii) Network configuration was not as automated or straight forward as they could have been.
iv) Software interface isn't as easy and fluid as it could be. I think that those who purchase this product that don't have some comfort with computers will be on the phone with HP often.
Overall, I am pleased with the purchase thus far but still have some configuration to work through. In HP's defense, I haven't called or emailed their tech support -- but I shouldn't have to and my schedule makes this tough. Again, I feel the hardware implementation is quite good but their installation software and interface is lacking.

HP OfficeJet 7310 All-in-One Printer Review

HP OfficeJet 7310 All-in-One Printer
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
My "real" rating would probably be 4.5 stars out of 5, but since I can't do that, I'll round up.
When my old printer died, I decided to look into an all-in-one since my scanner was getting up there in age and I had begun to notice how convenient having a fax machine in the house would be. I also wanted built-in two-sided printing (since I'd been spoiled with that feature on my last printer), and good print quality (especially photos). I also thought it would be nice to have each color in separate ink tanks so I wouldn't have to replace anything more than what I had used. With this printer I got everything I wanted except for the separate ink tanks.
I've been very impressed with the scan quality and copy quality. I have sent and received faxes with absolutely no problems. I've printed pages of great looking sharp text and impressive looking photos just using the default black and tri-color cartridges (i.e., without putting in the optional photo cartridge). The color LCD and the menu system it uses is great and easy to navigate.
If you're trying to decide between this printer and the 7410, I did some research and emailed HP to confirm what exactly the differences are. The only differences are:
1) The 7410 comes with the extra 250-sheet tray that attaches to the bottom of the printer and adds an extra inch or two to the total height of the printer.
2) On the machine itself, the 7410 has a 'collate' button and an option to collate within the 'copy' menu. HP also calls this 'reverse order printing' and they say it can be activated on the 7310 through the driver (although I have not done it). The same button on the 7310 is 'Lighter/Darker' and the 'collate' option is not in the copy menu.
3) While both printers have built in networking, only the 7410 has built-in wireless networking. This was not an issue for me since I already have a wireless router and I just ran an ethernet cable from my router to the printer. Now any computer that connects to the wireless router is able to print to the printer without having to go through another computer. The printer is basically its own device on the network and relies on nothing other than its network connection (i.e., no usb cables connected). If I had the 7410, the only difference is that I wouldn't have the ethernet cable coming from the router, but the functionality is the same.
I had no problems actually installing the software on any of our computers and have no problems using or accessing the printer from any computer on the network ("accessing" includes accessing any flash card in the media slots). There was a little complication with the software upsetting XP's Data Execution Prevention (DEP), but there is an update on HP's website that took care of that pretty easily.
My complaints:
- If you don't pull out the tray extender, anything you print will fall on the floor. This is kind of annoying if I'm printing from my laptop downstairs, go up to retrieve my print job, and find it all over the floor. Simple solution: If you just leave it pulled out (but not 'flipped' all the way out) it will still catch pretty much everything without having to deal with the thing jutting too far into space.
- As I mentioned before, I wish HP's ink cartridge system was different so that each ink color had its own cartridge that could be replaced as the individual color ran out. On a related note, I wish I could leave the photo cartridge in without having to swap out the black cartridge.
This is a great printer that is the first all-in-one that I have used that could perform all of its many functions really well. It is a little on the expensive side, but you get what you pay for. I have never regretted buying this printer.

I've had this printer for about 6 months and its been great. I'm not very technical but I got a wireless router going in the house for a laptop that we move around. I assumed getting this printer to work on the wireless network would be a problem, but the setup went fine using a wireless laptop (running the HP setup CD) and the printer hard wired into my ethernet connection per the instructions (they include the cord to do this). Once it was all lined up, I simply unplugged the printer from the ethernet and it worked great wirelessly. We have it tucked into a cabinet where it's hidden and the wireless laptop prints to it without a problem. One time it wasn't working so I pulled it out and ran throught the set up again with it plugged into the wall and its run fine wirelessly ever since. The print quality seems great also, but all we have printed are web pages and a few word documents.

I just baught this all in one , because I needed to do some faxing, getting it out of the box and setting it up was simple, you just take it out of the box, and its ready to go. However the instructions on how to use it are in my opinion very limited, for example inputting your name or other information into it requires prior knowledge on how to do it, you must know about texting, since the instructions do not tell you you have to use the key pad like you would in texting. When you enter a fax number and you enter a wrong number it does not tell you you can back up and erase it by pushing the left side mark on the Ok ring. If you go to their website, it is not much better, Iam still fooling around with it getting to know everthing about how it works, so far it has been very simple. It works excellent, I have faxed a ton of papers, printed a whole bunch and copied a few, I have not used it for picture printing or copying yet but in printing the colors have all been very good so far, and it has worked flawlesly. It is kind of noisy but it is of no consequence to me. All in all Iam very satisfied with it.
PS.. Iam 72 years old and not very computer literate!!!

Photosmart C4795 - Photo Printer - Color - Ink-jet - Print; Copy; Scan - Up To 2 Review

Photosmart C4795 - Photo Printer - Color - Ink-jet - Print; Copy; Scan - Up To 2
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I purchased the HP Photosmart C4795 All-in-One printer in early in September. A month later, I can say that it was a good purchase. It has served its purpose and has worked fine. Here is my summary of this printer.
Wireless: Grant it, it took a while to set it up and I did have to set up the wireless by entering the Security Code for my Wireless. But after I did that it was a cinch. In fact, (at my home) I have two computers connected to it and it prints both wirelessly and easily!!! (The reviewer who could not connect it to the wireless at the job may need to put in a security code or so before it can recognize the signal.)
Cable: As far as the printer cable is concerned, it is written on the box that it is included. I think all printers should come with one!!!
Size: It is average size for a flatbed-all-in-one (It has to be at be able to at least scan a regular size sheet of paper (8.5 x 11 inch page) and then some space for the control panel, etc. it would be nice if HP or some other printer could make one that is not so tall, but the scanning and copying function seem to alwys require more space.
Print and Copy function: HP printers are always excellent in the print department. The quality of the print is as expected of HP. However, in fast print mode, the machine ejects the paper out as if it's a kickball. (It kind of startled me for a moment!!) but you get used to it. The copies are excellent as well, especially color copies. Just stay aware of the ink supply.
Scan function: I agree that it has limited scan capacity. I thought it would be able to scan a document and have it saved as an OCR file that could be edited. However, it just scans and does not convert. I deduced that the scan must be for photos, thus the name Photosmart.
Ink: Also, I noticed that the ink cartridges don't last a long time. Fortunately, the cost of the ink is reasonable.
Photos: Haven't used it for printing out pictures, yet.
All in all, it is still a pretty good basic printer. The wireless function makes it worth it. The price listed here ($279) is not the most accurate or most realistic. It costs around $100 (plus or minus) depending on where it's on sale. If you don't need to scan and convert your documents, HP C4795 is a winner!!

HP Wireless G Print Server Review

HP Wireless G Print Server
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The HP Wireless G Print Server is the one to get if you already have a wireless network and an HP printer. It comes with everything you need to set up the server (cable, directions, driver/software CD) . The "HP Wireless printing Upgrade kit" is really for those you do not have a wireless network and only one computer. The Upgrade Kit requires the computer on which it is installed to be on to use the printer on any other computer. The HP Wireless G Print Server will allow you to print from any computer on your network, not requiring any particular computer to be on.
If you have more than one computer but don't have a wireless network, the best setup is to get a wireless router and set up the wireless network (it is easy nowadays.) This way you can print from any computer using the HP Wireless G Print Server without turning on a "host" computer.
I have been using the HP Wireless G Print Server for a month now and it works faultlessly. I did have an issue with my HP D5460 printer sending back the ink levels. I uninstalled the print server and then reinstalled it and it works fine now. The directions were unclear on the order of installation of a printer and the print server. Here is the best way to install:
First install the printer on each computer.
Disconnect the printer from all computers.
Install the print server on each computer, following the installation instructions for connecting the printer to the server.

HP Officejet 6000 Wireless Color Inkjet Printer (C9295A#B1H) Review

HP Officejet 6000 Wireless Color Inkjet Printer (C9295A#B1H)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I gave the printer five stars, because of price point (at 89.00, the ability to print wirelessly and with such a good quality printer is amazing) and because the printer has worked seamlessly once it was set up. Also, because HP clearly cares enough to add (not so) little touches such as:
1. Including the USB cable with the printer (Canon does not do this, from what I remember).
2. Including (this is amazing) the actual cartridges with the printer instead of "starter" cartridges that print maybe fifty sheets before conking out. Truthfully, you have to factor that into the price of these "cheaper" printers and realize that you have to tack on another thirty or more dollars to the price to pay for decent cartridges. With the ones supplied, I should be able to print at least 400 pages of black and white letters, email, etc. befor replacing the black cartridge.
3. If, like most of us looking for a small business (or home business) printer, there is the option to use an extended black cartridge which will give you even more pages between changes. This wouldn't be so important for a photo printer, but for what it is (it's called an "Officejet," remember) this is a wonderful feature.
4. The printer goes into standby mode and "wakes up" when needed. Perhaps all new printers do this (my last printer was from a few years ago) but I find this a great feature.
Some may be put off by the form factor - this is not a small printer and takes up a fair amount of desk space. Also, the majority of the plastic sides are in white, (or putty, I suppose) which I have a feeling will show dirt and smudges worse than a silver or black model.
Finally, let's get to the frustrating elements. As I've said, none of these were bad enough for me to lower the five star rating, but they were a little annoying:
1. (this is trivial but if it saves someone else the headache, it's worth mentioning) - the set up instructions included in the box clearly show a plastic back panel that looks to be inserted when one is not using the black duplex printing back that comes with this unit. Duplex printing means the ability to print on both sides of the page, and the black plastic back is called "optional" in the instructions. Well, upon unpacking the printer I couldn't find the other panel anywhere in the box or on the printer -although it was clearly seen in the picture. I called HP and, as I surmised, the printer does NOT come with this flat back panel. You LEAVE the black duplex printing back (which sticks out in a bump from the back) in the printer all the time. The pictures in the instructions were for the NON-WIRELESS version of the printer. It would have been nice if someone had mentioned that the wireless printer ONLY comes with the black back.
2. It takes the printer up to ten minutes to set itself up when you turn it on for the first time. This is clearly marked in the instructions, but if you don't notice it, you might think something is wrong as you wait...and wait...and wait...for it to print that magical first test page. NOTHING IS WRONG. Have patience.
3. As others have noted, the software is ridiculously slow to install. I will say that when I installed it in our XP (the second computer) it took a fraction of the time, so perhaps this is a Vista issue. But it took (I'm not kidding) forty-five minutes to load. I kept thinking it was hanging, but then it would inch foward another 1% and chug along. I have NEVER had software take this long to load since the DOS days! Oh, and make sure you disable your anit-virus software before you load it. I didn't and it seemed to make it crash the first time I tried to install it. (obviously turn back your anti-virus software after installation).
The GOOD NEWS: Once installed, it found the router immediately and both computers found the printer with no problems whatsoever. To have a wireless printer that my wife can print her recipes without having to bother me or I can print without taking up a valuable USB slot on my laptop is fantastic. And the quality is great for basic office chores.
I have NO idea if it will last, but as of now, I'm am really delighted to have a wireless printer with so many features at thie price point.
