I use this for a 4 computer LAN at home. Set up was simple, the software was not only good, but automatically updateable and both intranet and internet speeds are excellent. In short, I have no cpmplaints.

Wireless 7760 11 A/b/g Poe Access Point Review

For what I paid, I was seriously expecting an industrial-strength access point with a solid range. I have used other 3Com access points such as the 8250 in larger environments with desired results, but this one doesn't measure up AT ALL. I mounted it centrally about 7 feet up a wall, tried different antennas, different physical locations, different software settings, firmware upgrades, etc, but my cheap crappy netgear consumer wireless router gets better range, and from farther away will generate a better signal than this 3Com.
Sorely disappointed.

We have several of these in our office. They work well for Windows PCs, but Macs and iPod Touch/iPhones have trouble connecting to them reliably, even with the latest firmware. I'd go with some other brand if you have to support Apple equipment. 3Com does have a handy Windows program for discovering and configuring these things, and their web config interface is pretty good as those things go.

3Com OfficeConnect Wireless-G Cable/DSL Router (Model 3CRWE554G72TU) Review

I own several routers: Netgear, Linksys, Uniden, D-Link, etc. There was always something in each router that I wished were different or I wished was included. This 3com is the culmination of those wishes.
The first thing that caught my eye with this router was the security features. It has WPA encryption. Awesome. WEP is not secure and hasn't been for a while. The firewall on this router is also excellent - it blocks all unsolicited incoming requests and pings while some other brands above wouldn't. This router also plays VERY well with file sharing with wireless clients. A couple of the above routers I owned would not let wireless clients access network shares.
Signal strength is also excellent. This router is at one end of my 1400 square ft. house and all my wireless clients are at the other end. All machines always register anywhere from 96%-99% signal strength.
Software config is AWESOME! 3Com has done an excellent job of categorizing functions. It's easy to navigate and it contains everything you would ever want. One feature I am glad about is that the ability to limit access to the router by MAC address only is limited to wireless clients only. It's a pain to have to enter MAC addresses for wired clients, and it is pointless. If somebody can gain access to my network via a network cable, most likely they broke in and are stealing my TV and stuff anyway. :)
This router is much slimmer than other routers I've owned, and so it doesn't take up too much space. Some may not like it because it is not designed to stand vertically. Personally I don't care one way or the other.
I could go on, but for the price, this router can't be beat!
